A Little Extra Voodoo In This Tequila

Are you looking for a bottle of tequila to bring out on special occasions? One that you can sit down with a group of friends and sip to your heart's content without feeling that tequila hangover the next morning? One that has really cool accessories? Well, it just so happens that I have a recommendation for you, Voodoo Tiki Tequila's Coleccion Privada de la Familia Extra Anejo.

The features of this tequila is that it has the smoothness of an aged tequila with a lot of lovely oak tones you would hope to find in any anejo. The agave flavor is not in your face, but hangs out with a suave 50's greaser type of cool in the background just waiting to show its true colors in the finish. This bottling from Voodoo Tiki is the top of their line and one of those tequilas that makes you truly appreciate this spirit category.

The drawbacks to Coleccion Privada de la Familia is that it will put a big dent in your pocket book and there are only 1,000 bottles available each year. If tequila like this was available at a lower price we could all kiss those bad tequila trips goodbye, but you will have to fork over at least $1,000 for a liter. For that price you get a lot of extras, though. This year the bottling is featured in a 2 foot tall, solid wood, handcrafted tiki box that is fantastic and may be one of the best conversation pieces your bar can have - mine is prominently on display and is always a wonder to friends. Inside the box you will find, not only your liter of fabulous tequila complete with its hand blown tiki inside the bottle, but also a set of four tall tiki shooter glasses that beat any novelty shot glass out of the water.

If you can swing the cash this is a tequila you will not want to miss. It is a great excuse for inviting a handful of friends over and have a tequila tasting - everything you need is in one convenient and very cool box - even for those who require a tequila re-introduction, this tequila will make them see the light.
