The inaugural cocktail contest was a great success and we had some amazing tequila cocktails submitted. There can only be one winner and this month we chose Ryan Kelley's Pom Padre.
This drink is an interesting mix that caught my eye first because of the key ingredient, and it was the one that Kelley challenged himself to pair with tequila. That is Benedictine and if you are familiar with the herbal liqueur you would think the same thing: That would actually work? It does and the balance here is key in order to avoid losing either the tequila or the Benedictine to the fruit juices. The fascinating tastes of fruit, herb, and agave are a joy to sip and savor.
